Access Statement for Mulberry Loft
Mulberry loft is a Grade II listed cottage set within the beautiful 'Downalong' fisherman’s quarter of St. Ives and set back in the quieter part of the town, which is literally a two-minute walk away.
Pre-Arrival
• We have an informative website (www.mulberryloft.co.uk) with pictures of all of the rooms, an online availability and pricing calendar, directions to the cottage and a location map.
• Bookings and enquiries can be made from the website via email or phone.
• All guests are provided with an email in advance of arrival which provides access details, welcome information about the cottage and a link to the website directions/location map to help plan their journey. These are available in large font on request.
• St Ives rail station approximately 1 mile from the property and Ace Cars taxis will be able to take you from the station to the property on 01736797799.
ARRIVAL
Check in is from 3pm onwards. Car parking is located at the Island Car park (a 5 minute walk away). Luggage can be offloaded outside the property (and if busy you may need to drive round the block to let other vehicles pass). Parking is approximately £33 for a week and tickets can be purchased from the car park attendant or machine.
NON-SMOKING
The property is strictly non-smoke. This is particularly important due to the age of the property.
HEATING
The loft has gas central heating; guests are able to control the timing of this. The gas combi boiler is in the cupboard by the window in the kitchen.
HOT WATER
The hot water is heated by the combi boiler (found in the kitchen) and is pre-set so no need to do anything with this.
BEDDING AND TOWELS
The beds will be made up with bed linen, and you’ll find towels in the bedrooms (you’ll need beach towels though).
MAIN ENTRANCE
• The main entrance to the loft is accessed via seven granite steps, which lead to the first front door. The loft is mostly on the level aside a step to the living room and two bedrooms and kitchens.
• Unfortunately due to the age and style of the property wheelchair access would not be possible. The loft is accessed on arrival using a key lock (details provided in advance by welcome email sent to guests a week before arrival). One additional set of keys for the front door is available.
• The front door opens onto a staircase to the landing, which provide access to the bathroom, bedrooms, kitchen/dining and living room. There is a light switch as you enter the property.
• There is a communal porch at the property and prams and surf accessories can be left her as long as you do not block and the access and are considerate to the property owners on the first floor who share this access. Ideally please remove shoes before proceeding to the rest of the loft.
• The kitchen and bathroom are tiled and the master bedroom and living room have original floorboards with rugs. The rest of the property is carpeted.
• Please be careful on the stairs and mind your heads on the low beam.
• We have made available a small first aid kit (kept on the first cupboard next to the cooker hood. (If you can replace items as/if used – thanks).
SITTING ROOM
• The living room is spacious with two large sofas around a coffee table, which is perfect for curling up in front of on colder evenings. It has a LCD TV with built-in freeview, a DVD/CD player together with a selection of DVDs, books and games for adults and children. There are spotlights and lamps. A floor standing fan.
• The welcome pack is located on the coffee table. There are also leaflets for local attractions.
BEDROOMS
• Bedroom One has a Feather & Black double bed with quality bed linen a chest of drawers, built in wardrobe with shelves, a tabletop washbasin, LCD TV with built in freeview.
• Bedroom Two has two 3’ wide single beds with quality bed linen, bedside drawers, built in wardrobe. Located in the wardrobe is the travel cot.
• Bedroom Three has a single 3’ wide bed with optional pull out second bed (or alternatively can be made up as a double) with quality bed linen and a small side table.
BATHROOM
• The bathroom is large, large bath with overhead drench shower with bath mixer/shower. Sink. WC. Heated towel rail. Spot Lighting. Luxury cotton towels are provided.
KITCHEN
• Large 19th Century French games dining table, which seats six.
• The light switch for the under cupboard lights is located next to the fridge freezer.
• The kitchen is fully fitted with gas hob, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and all the crockery and other kitchenware a cook could possibly need.
• A tea towel and oven glove is provided and enough bin liners, dishwasher tablets etc. to get you started.
• The appliances within the property are fairly straightforward but should you need to refer to the instructions for any of these they can be found in the folder in the living room.
• A fire extinguisher and fire blanket are located on the wall by the oven and hob.
• The fuse board is located in the kitchen next to the fridge freezer should you ever need it.
• The kitchen cupboard (next to the window) contains the gas boiler, which is set up for your comfort but can be adjusted if required. (Instructions are in the folder in the living room).
• The kitchen cupboard (as you access the kitchen) stores a vacuum cleaner, dustpan and brush, a mop & bucket, air dryer, iron, ironing board.
• A micro hi fi DAB system with iPod/phone doc which also features SD memory card slot and USB connection.
CHILDREN
There is a travel cot (located in the wardrobe of the second bedroom) and highchair (located in the kitchen cupboard) and stair gate at the top of the stairs. We would respectfully request that these items are cleaned after use.

Please be advised that departure is strictly by 10am. Keys are to be posted into the wall mounted post box on departure. You are asked to leave the house clean and tidy, any unreasonable additional cleaning required may be charged for.

• Some mobile networks are better than others but coverage at the loft is generally good.
